At the
fifth, in a long-running series of NJ Free Poker Bar
Tab Satellite Tournaments, it was a simple case of
one player out-“pace”ing the rest of the field.
Anthony “Bug-Man” Pace survived the 40+ other Texas
Hold’em hopefuls and captured the win, a $150 NJFP
sponsored satellite seat and perhaps more
importantly, bragging rights, until another winner
surfaces at the next event in April.
In the end, Pace took out Eric “Prodigal Son” Sita,
in heads-up play, to take home the prize. Eric
received a $100 sponsorship. When asked about the
event, Pace had this to say:
“Tony The Bug-Man Pace always welcomes strong
competition. I didn't feel any real pressure until
it got down to the final 4 players. Knowing the next
hand may be the end and to get so close and go away
empty would have been a bit much, and I may have had
to kill your lead dealer Rob. Just kidding
folks…Thanks again for a great Tournament.”
Well put Tony, but there were at least nine other
players, at that final table with a death wish for
Rob “Lord of the River” Grosch.
Taking third, was a player who is no stranger to
final tables, Ren “Double-Down” Buonomo. Ren has won
a previous Bar-Tab tourney, and usually finishes in
the top-ten. This time he was awarded a $50 seat.
The remainder of the field received gift
certificates to Blvd Bar and Grill.

Thank you to Rob for organizing another successful
event, and to all of the NJFP Dealers and thanks to
everyone who participated.
If you are interested in playing in the next Bar-Tab
Tournament, just submit your bar/food receipts of
$20 or more to the Lead Dealer (include your name
and ID number). When you spend $20 you get 20 points
added to your score. Submit $40 or more for 40
points. Bar-tab points for each Bar Tab Tournament
are tracked separately on the Leader Board, and a
running total, which give you Bonus Chips for the
NJFP Finals are also tallied.
The lockout date for the next tourney is March 31st.
The top 80 players in Bar-Tabs qualify to play in
the tournament. We’ll be back for another go-round
in the beginning of April.
